Latin Dancing

Competitive Latin dancing is a passion that has consumed much of my energy outside of work for more than decade. Both art and sport, it serves as a creative outlet and an excellent form of exercise. In recent years, I've begun traveling more to compete at a higher level, including in international competitions.

March 2018 - U.S. National Championships

The NDCA championships are always held at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. It's a bit out of the way, but the mountains are gorgeous; it's a shame I didn't have more time to spend. Tough competition at this one.

January 2018 - UK Open Dance Championships

Our first competition of the New Year, the UK Open is one of the largest ballroom dancing competitions in the world. It's always a challenge coming back to competition right after the holidays, but it felt good getting back on the floor. It was also a nice excuse to spend a couple days in London before heading to Bournemouth for the competition.

October 2017 - Paragon Dancesport Championships

Another New York area competition, this one in Stamford, CT. It's the weekend before halloween, and the competition venue is always decorated for the occasion. I also appreciated the free robes they gave to the competitors. Videos in reverse order this time.

August 2017 - Empire Dance Championships

First competition of the season, a highly competitive one in the middle of Manhattan. I'm happy to be showing some improvement after a couple months of focused training, and the videos are better quality this time.

May 2017 - Blackpool Dance Festival

This was my first time competing at Blackpool, the longest running ballroom competition in the world and a de facto international championship. It is truly an honor to share the floor with such amazing dancers; just being there is an exhilarating experience. You can see my partner and I in the video links below (look for a pink dress and shiny black pants).
